As part of the Belgian library days event “Vienna 1900”, the Austrian Cultural Forum Brussels has joined forces with the European Commission's translation service to organise a reading that spans the period from the eve of the First World War to the Second World War. Actor Martin Ploderer and interpreter Jasminka Derveaux will read texts by Stefan Zweig and Karl Kraus. The event also includes a talk on the subject of refugees in Ostend around 1936 and the relationship between Stefan Zweig and Joseph Roth. Three short films by Dieter Grohmann will be shown during the reading.
