Woody Black 4

The Clarinet Quartet Woody Black 4 consists of four jazz musicians: Oscar Antoli, Stephan Dickbauer, Daniel Moser and Leonhard Skorupa. In an impulsive and at the same time artistic way they combine various styles and ways of playing – it's cross-over at its best. In Woody Black 4's music classical jazz and modern elements are intricately interwoven. At moments you sense a hint of chamber music, you hear some pop elements or plunge into New Music style. The quartet succeeds in merging this multitude of different elements into a new, pulsating entity of its own – a sound that captures your attention from the first second on. On several occasions, the jazz quartet has given brilliant musical performances. The four musicians have won, amongst others, the 2014 "European Jazz Contest" and the second prize at the 2016 "Made in New York Jazz Competition". Woody Black 4 have been selected for the 2018/19 „New Austrian Sound of Music (NASOM)“ programme of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs which aims at promoting young talents.
