Meeting of Directors General for Schools
The meeting of the directors general for schools serves as a platform to reflect on, continue and further develop the EU agenda, in particular the concepts and strategies of the European Education Area, Education and Training 2020, Erasmus+ and open dossiers. At the breakout sessions, several smaller groups will discuss in greater depth questions relating to the role of school education in the European Education Area, the teaching and learning of languages and the Erasmus programme. For the breakout session on Erasmus, participants will go on field trips to the institutions listed on the agenda where they will talk about their experiences of participating in an Erasmus project.
This meeting and the subsequent conference “The Implementation of Education Reforms in Europe – Governance and Leadership in Change Processes” will be used as opportunities to learn from the rich variety of knowledge and practices regarding policy development and implementation shared and created by the Education and Training 2020 Working Group Schools – in particular approaches towards solutions for current challenges in European school systems with regards to progressing towards a European Education Area.
