High-Level Conference on Sustainable Energy and Development

In order to promote the intensified use of renewable energy and the increase of energy efficiency in the African, Caribbean and Pacific countries and, in future also, in Asia, the regional energy centres created by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Austria provide technical knowledge and support practical cooperation with private and governmental institutions.  At the conference representatives of these regional centres discuss with senior experts for development cooperation from Brussels and EU capitals as wells as representatives of the financial sector, the private sector, universities, international organisations and NGOs about possible ways to improve the use of energy and to accelerate the withdrawal from fossil forms of energy.
