There is growing evidence that the education and recognition of coaches is important. Coaches not only prepare top athletes for various competitions but also supervise all those who actively participate in sport. Coaches help children, young people, adults and seniors with different social backgrounds to be part of the sporting community and find their place in society. This expert meeting can contribute to future best practice examples through an exchange of views at the roundtable on learning mobility. It can also contribute to the achievement of

  • the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy, including the headline education target
  • the objectives of the strategic framework for European cooperation in education and training (ET 2020)
  • the promotion of European values in accordance with article 2 of the Treaty on the European Union

The actions supported under this key action “Learning Mobility” are expected to bring positive and long-lasting effects for the participants and organisations involved, as well as for the policy systems in which such activities take place.
