Good public administration and benefits for citizens – the role of parliamentary scrutiny bodies

This symposium is primarily aimed at supreme audit institutions as well as ombudsman boards of the EU member states, the European Court of Auditors and the European Ombudsman.

On the preliminary agenda are:

  • the role of parliamentary scrutiny and audit institutions as well as of other relevant institutions
  • discussions on good governance: good governance and supreme audit institutions from the perspective of the OECD; good administration of the European Union from the perspective of the European Ombudsman; good administration as an auditing standard from the perspective of the German Federal Court of Auditors; complaints procedures as a contribution to good public administration from the perspective of the ombudsman board and the International Ombudsman Institute; scrutiny, good governance and benefits to citizens from the perspective of the Swiss Federal Audit Office
