High-level conference on European aviation strategy with EU Commissioner Violeta Bulc and Federal Minister Norbert Hofer in the Austria Center Vienna

European aviation leaders are gathering in Vienna for the European Aviation Summit on 3 and 4 October 2018 during the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The 200 participants include EU Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc, ministers from EU member states, such as Romania and the Netherlands, CEOs of airlines and airports, and leading European stakeholders.

For host Norbert Hofer, the summit in Vienna is a key element of the Austrian Presidency.

“The event will provide a comprehensive overview of the extent to which the proposals of the 2015 Aviation Strategy for Europe have already been implemented, and where there is still a need for action. The challenges of the future in the aviation sector will be addressed in three panel discussions.”

Other topics include the current delay situation, the challenges of digitalisation, air transport agreements between the EU and third countries, and the single market, with the social aspects of aviation being taken into account.

The conference will last for two days and is only open to accredited guests.
