“Taking cooperation to the digital age” – Conclusion of the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union

Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz along with president of Rwanda and current chairperson of the African Union, Paul Kagame, are inviting heads of state or government from Africa and Europe as well numerous companies to Vienna for the High‑Level Forum Africa‑Europe on 17 and 18 December. Under the motto “Taking cooperation to the digital age” and regarding cooperation between the two continents in the areas of innovation and digitalisation, discussions will be held on how the advantages of digital transformation can benefit everyone.

In addition to round table discussions where key topics such as the private financing of start‑ups, agriculture 4.0 and access to sustainable energy will be covered, the Forum will be accompanied by business to business meetings. During these meetings companies will be able to exchange their concepts for the digital age. In preparation for this final major event under the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU, the Austrian head of government only recently visited Ethiopia and Rwanda. In the course of these visits he expressed the intention to improve living conditions and promote sustainable development in Africa by means of close cooperation and increased Investment.
