Wolf Suschitzky photography award
In honour of the late Austrian émigré photographer Wolf Suschitzky, the Austrian Cultural Forum London has launched a photography award including an exhibition. The project was started in 2018 to mark the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the award will be conferred every two years. Young Austrian and British photographers were invited to submit photos on the theme of “The Everyday” (an important topic in Suschitzky’s work). A panel of experts will select two winners. One winner will be offered a residency in London and the other a residency in Vienna. Furthermore, both winners will receive a cash prize and be invited to participate in an exhibition that will show works by the shortlisted artists at the Austrian Cultural Forum London.
The submission period alone, which ended on Wednesday 20 June, was very successful, attracting 77 high‑quality entries. The exhibition will take place in December.
